that I wanted to re-examine.

Summary
“S/KT.” is a project and moniker used by S.KT.—who has engaged with the BL genre—to release music that prioritizes “relationships and emotional nuances” for the sake of their own creative work.
Background of its creation
S.KT., who had long pursued music production as a lifelong passion, felt a sudden surge of motivation to create songs focusing on emotional nuances and interpersonal relationships—driven by the explosive release of an interest that had been simmering within for years.
The source of this emotion was the genre of “Boys’ Love” (BL) works.
Excerpt from “How S.KT. Came to Love BL“
S.KT.’s current love for BL has been shaped by a fusion of various emotions experienced over time.
In childhood, seeing individuals with a feminine persona (onee-kei) gave S.KT. a vague sense of emotional connections that transcended the traditional boundaries of male-female romance. Before understanding the full spectrum of gender diversity, there was a time when S.KT. simply equated “men who act like women” with “men who are attracted to other men.”
In the realm of 2D media, exposure to “boyish” characters and gender-bending (TSF) works was a revelation regarding the breadth of gender and self-expression. Later, in junior high school, encountering the concept of “otoko-no-ko” (feminine-looking boys)—where “cuteness” intersected with same-sex romance—stirred a genuine emotional response to BL-style relationships.
Subsequently, an interest in “shota” (young boys) emerged, drawn by their ephemeral nature and emotional delicacy. Eventually, this fascination expanded to encompass a wide range of male expressions—regardless of age or appearance—leading to a full-fledged immersion into the world of BL.
Short animated films on YouTube and doujin BL works on pixiv served as the catalysts for these current activities, fostering a deep appreciation for the “emotional fluctuations within relationships.”
Today, BL has helped S.KT. embrace diverse sexualities; the attraction lies less in the genre itself and more in the way emotions are portrayed.
In the end, he created the name “S/KT.” with the “/” (slash) character, which is “a symbol that indicates romantic feelings between characters,” which led to the start of the project in 2025.
Expression
- To emphasize that these songs stem from personal emotions, there are more opportunities to vocally express emotional nuances compared to work released under the “S.KT. Music” moniker.
- Believing that the stories behind the songs are essential to the nature of the work, I have written backstories for each track (available for viewing in the discography or YouTube video descriptions). Beyond my own original material, I also create fan-made content dedicated to works that have influenced me (always with permission, of course!).
Characters
There are characters who appear in the backstories of the songs and the “Navigator” credited to S/KT.
